Eritrichium aretoids

One mission on my recent vacation was to photograph an Eritrichium. This proved possible when I travelled through Rocky Mountain National Park. A ranger suggested where they would be - just off the Ute trail. I'm not too sure about the elevation but it must have been around 10,000 to 11,000 feet. There was no snow near the plants. At the top of the mountain there was lots of snow at the visitors center. Fantastic views.

I was so excited to be able to take these photographs. This was the highlight of my two week vacation, travelling over 4,000 miles. To be able to spend time setting up my tripod and getting the right exposure etc was so much fun.

I was the only person out there.....well almost. Some people were on the trail. One person came over to ask questions.
