Tyron Creek

Today I hiked around Tyron Creek in SE Portland. The ferns caught my eye. The most popular were the sword ferns that appeared in huge clumps. The first picture here is of another fern that I don't know the name of. It appeared close to the trail in several places.

There were several bridges across water. Notice the ferns growing from this downed and dead tree. This was a third fern. It grew on mossy sides of trees.

And the picture below shows the image of a fourth fern. It has some disease, maybe caused by too much rain. It was raining most of the time I was there.

I found spores beneath several of the plants. This is possibly a fifth kind of fern.
