Seed trays

This winter I'm planning on growing a lot of plants from seed. To help keep things organized, I made a prototype wooden seed tray for holding pots. The wood used was some cedar scraps I had laying around - leftover from working on the house siding.

The pots were filled with a soil mix of one part sand, one part grit and one part local soil. The soil mix should allow water to drain

The seed is sown on top and then covered with a layer of grit. The seed tray is then set outside in my cold frame to face the winter weather. In spring I should see signs of growth.
